Tyree, Shuler returning to Ole Miss for upcoming season

The Rebel backcourt is returning to Oxford after initially declaring for the NBA Draft.

After going through the draft process, Breein Tyree and Devontae Shuler have decided to withdraw and come back to Oxford as the Rebels attempt to make it back to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.

Tyree is a rising senior, and during his junior season, he led the Rebels in scoring with 17.9 ppg on his way to being named to the All-SEC First-Team. Shuler, a rising junior, averaged 10.3 ppg and 4.2 rpg while battling a foot injury last season.

Following last season’s NCAA Tournament appearance, Terence Davis & Bruce Stevens graduated and Dominik Olejniczak transferred. As returning starters, Tyree and Shuler’s decisions to come back will help from both a basketball and a leadership perspective.

This is the second piece of NBA Draft-related news to come out of the state this week as Mississippi State’s Reggie Perry announced that he will return to Starkville for his sophomore season.
