JACKSON, MISS– Looking for something to do this weekend? From garden planning to art and and space jumps, plenty of options all over the Magnolia State.
The first stop is in Pass Christian for the annual Art in the Pass:
Anita Gianni, marketing director for Art in the Pass, says that there will be a silent auction at Art in the Pass, and all the proceeds of that auction will go to a scholarship fund for high schools seniors wishing to get a degree in art. Gianni says hundreds of vendors will have art for every price range. Painting, drawing and sculpting aren’t the only celebrated arts there this weekend. There will be a “Marine Cuisine” cooking demonstration with samples following the show. The event is Saturday and Sunday from 8am-5pm. Next, head up to Jackson for the Mississippi Department of Transportation Safety Fair:

At the fair, you and the kids can learn about safe traveling habits, putting car seats in properly, and buckling up. There will also be free helmets for the kids and even a bike giveaway. The free event will be held Sat. April 11 and is open to the public. It will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Mississippi Trade Mart on the Fairgrounds in Jackson.
And if you’re getting the yard ready for Spring, The New Albany Garden Show has your back:
Pat James with the New Albany Garden Show says there will be speakers ready to help you strengthen that green thumb. There will also be vendors such as John Deere, Lowe’s, and some of New Albany’s own landscaping experts at your disposal. Food is also available for the two day event.
