Coast casinos cleared to reopen after Hurricane Sally misses Mississippi

Casinos on the Mississippi Gulf Coast will reopen their doors this afternoon.

After initially ordering them to close in preparation for Hurricane Sally, the Mississippi Gaming Commission has given coast casinos the go-ahead to reopen this afternoon at 1 p.m.

Hurricane Sally made landfall near Gulf Shores early this morning as a Category 2 strom. Initial projections had Sally barreling toward the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but it continued to shift east as it made its way through the Gulf of Mexico.
